Scott Nicoll is one of the firm's partners and is a native of South Surrey/White Rock. Scott graduated from St. George's School in Vancouver and obtained his Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from Queen's University at Kingston. He has a Master of Art's degree from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Victoria. Scott is married with 3 children and lives in the South Surrey/White Rock area, where he is active in the community.
Scott's practice is restricted to litigation. He practices primarily in insurance defence and commercial litigation. He has acted for a variety of clients since being called to the Bar in 1994, from large insurance companies and national financial institutions, to small business entrepreneurs and technology sector clients. He has represented these clients in a variety of matters including contractual disputes, intellectual property, secured transactions, construction law, insurance defence, employment and general realization work.
He has also acted for individual band members, Band Councils and currently acts for a Tribal Council in Northern British Columbia. He has also served as legal counsel and de facto Chief Negotiator for a participant in the BC Treaty Commission process. He has acted for aboriginal groups and individuals in a variety of matters, including band governance disputes, forestry joint ventures and specific claims.
