In a car accident? Know your benefits.

If you’ve been in a car accident, you may be eligible for up to 15 weeks of medical EI if you’re unable to work.

But what about after 15 weeks?

Most of us don’t think about personal injury insurance benefits until we need it and few of think about it in terms of long term disability.

However, a bad accident can happen to anyone and if you’re injured, it’s crucial to know your rights and what benefits you may be entitled to receive.

If you are still injured after 15 weeks and cannot go back to work as a result of your accident, ICBC offers additional insurance benefits called total temporary disability (TTD) benefits that can provide you with up to $300 per week of additional income. Unfortunately, many people are unaware that these benefits exist and feel the financial pressure to go back to work before they have recovered.

Many people who have been injured in car accidents go back to work still injured because they financially cannot afford to do otherwise, but you do not have to be that person. Plaintiff lawyers can fight to get you TTD benefits so that you can take care of yourself and your family without inducing further injury and financial stress.

If you’d like to know more about how TTD works and what you may be entitled to, contact Rory Morgan at Hamilton Duncan today.

We exist to reduce your stress, recover your expenses, receive compensation for your losses, and get you back on track. Give us a call, text or email today.
